Alderley Edge is a dramatic red sandstone ridge rising above the Cheshire plain to the south of Manchester. After an initial uphill section our route offers pleasant easy woodland walking, interesting geology, and some exceptional views. We’ll explore the ancient woodland and the area’s rich history and legends. A perfect walk for a warm summer evening. Three hours walking. Train from Piccadilly to Alderley Edge station 1706.
