We could not have hoped for a better day to visit Lyme Park with the Hall and gardens looking magnificent in the early autumn sunshine. Unknown when planning this was that Lyme is currently marking the 30th anniversary of the filming of Pride and Prejudice and it was a delight to see so many visitors dressed up in Regency era costume as part of the celebrations. We were very fortunate too in gaining free access to the Hall’s beautiful gardens and landmark tower (the ‘Cage’). If you missed our walk today there’s no better time to visit Lyme than over the next few weeks.

My third walk with the group and it was the perfect day out for the visit. Lyme park is gorgeous with all the greenery and carefully planted wide variety of flowers. My personal favourites were getting to hear about Andrew’s favourite path in the garden, all the dogs I met that other visitors brought along, and the surprise stag we spotted on our way back!
Looking forward to the next one:)
Some pictures I took of the stag we saw, The cage, an adorable young cow with a stylish haircut, a tall fern at the orangery, and Lyme house.
