By popular request, for our next walk we’ll be heading north of Manchester. Amid the natural splendour of the Calder Valley, the old market town of Hebden Bridge is deservedly one of the top visitor destinations in south Yorkshire. We’ll start our walk with a steep climb to explore the quaint historic village of Heptonstall set on the hillside high above the town. We’ll cross the hilltop and descend into Hardcastle Crags to visit Gibson’s Mill and return to Hebden Bridge along peaceful riverside tracks, leaving some time to explore this fascinating town. Train from Manchester Victoria 10 45. About 4 hours easy walking, with one very steep section. Return to Manchester about 5pm.
