We’ll walk up from Marple Station to follow the Peak Forest Canal westward down the historic ‘flight of locks’ and over the impressive Marple Aqueduct (built in 1794) which spans a beautiful section of the River Goyt. After heading uphill for a wider view of the river valley we’ll drop down to cross the canal again and walk through ancient woodland to reach the historic settlement of Chadkirk. We’ll return along a different section of the canal and through the woods of Brabyns Park. About 3 hours walking.
