The Goyt Valley is one of the prettiest areas of the Peak District. From the stone-built village of Whaley Bridge we’ll explore the area southwards past Toddbrook Reservoir, through woods and open countryside up onto Taxal Edge. After enjoying the superb views down over the Goyt river valley and surrounding hills we’ll descend more directly and return closer to the river, via the little hamlet of Taxal. Three and a half hours walking. Train from Manchester Piccadilly at 1250.
